Taphophile Tragics # 10

She looks ... well ... almost angelic, as she coquettishly loiters within Waverley Cemetery. However, I have a suspicion that even angels, when they grow up, get into strife. On gossamer wings, glide on over to Sydney Eye to assess my evidence.

Welcome to the tenth week of Taphophile Tragics.

Your contribution is most welcome. Please ensure that you include some details of the cemetery in which you took your photographs. As you are surely all appreciating, a few of our number have meandered through burial grounds in wierd and wonderful places all around the globe.

Please link directly to your post, rather than simply to your blog in general. Mr Linky opens at 10pm Monday, Sydney time (GMT+11). When you can, please visit the other contributing bloggers to show your appreciation of their endeavours. Due to time zone variations and overcrowded schedules, some contributions are made later than Tuesday/Wednesday.

She is so sweet. In the Salt Lake City, Utah cemetery there is an angel statue that a book was written about. After I read the book I couldn't wait to stop there and check out the statue. So pretty. So serene.

She is a cute one standing bright and white over her charge.

Beautiful little figurine with a feeling of shy humility in the body language.

oh, how pretty!! i always look for angles on cemeteries, but there are not that many around here. in that respect, americans seem rather boring and simple!

i find it extremely funny that you say this cute little angel is "loitering", just few days ago i posted about loitering. you can get arrested for that! (http://cat-pictureday.blogspot.com/2012/02/no-loitering.html)

A sad bit of news from a local cemetery: Metals thieves steal from 525 graves in Colma. The city of San Francisco doesn't have any cemeteries, but Colma, just to the south has a number of large ones to accommodate SF's deceased (or didn't end up in Oakland, as many did in the old days)

That is quite pathetic, Gene. I suppose to steal that many they have to go in with a truck and an oxyacetylene gun of some sort. I don't hear of that sort of thing over here. Sometimes there is vandalism, but they are caught and exposed to community ridicule. Thanks for the link to the story.

I found the expression 'off of' a bit tough to read. We get that here, too.

She is more fairy-like than angel-like I think.
